At least, I'm pretty sure this is original to me.
Opening an email from somebody else is like taking gum from their mouth and chewing it. If you know them and love them, it might be nice, but if they're a stranger it's just gross.
I could say email attachment, but with some MUAs, just opening the email is sometimes sufficient to be infected with the yuck.
